Newsletter 3/6/12

Club Business
- Michelle asked us to give her a list of ideas that we have for the climbing wall. This can include setting aside times for just the POC to climb, having lock-ins there, or running beginner events. Get your wheels turning and bring your ideas to the meetings
- Our new gear closet should be available in August. Anybody have any good ideas about how to organize that bad boy? It's only 6'8'' tall (or something like that) so we need to find out how to compress everything down.
- Donate your lightly used school supplies! Bring them to the club sports office in Shreve.
- Anybody against donating to Muir Valley? It's a climbing crag at the Red River Gorge that's privately owned but the couple keeps it open for public use. They use their own money and donations to maintain it, so it would be nice to give them some help because of how much we go there.
- REI is opening in Castleton. Our club has been invited to go for the grand opening on March 22nd. Contact Kate if you're interested.
- Kate has to turn in a request form to the Co-Rec to make sure we can possibly have roll sessions during the summer. It'll probably only be once a week and at this time we don't know what day or time. If anybody will be around to help run them e-mail Kate.
- Consultants: As an add on to the emergency action plan you all wrote, please write a couple sentences on how often you check the quality of the gear and how you maintain it. Once again, e-mail Kate. (Sorry Kate).

Trips that Went Out
- The climbing competition in Bloomington went well. Ryan placed 3rd in men's advanced! Great job Ryan! They left at 2pm and didn't get back until 4am because of the small dyno competition
- Amy and Isaac saw Dane in Indy and ate big burgers

Trips Going Out
- People are going all over the country! Climbing in Red Rocks, fun at Grandma's, shenanigans in Hoosier National Forest, kayaking in Tennessee/North Carolina, fun at Lake Tahoe, craziness in Florida, etc.
- Kelly wants to go to the Red the weekend on April 13th and wants people to go with her.
- April 22nd is Spring Splash at Hilltop
- Julie needs a ride back from Indy to Purdue this Saturday. I think she sent out an e-mail, so contact her if you can help her out!

Hope everybody has an amazing spring break. Please make sure you come back.
