CLUB BUSINESS
-Take the online driver tutorial! Everyone do it, it does not matter if you have a car or not everyone who will be driving at all on a club trip needs to be driver certified. We need to get these done soon to make sure we have enough certified drivers for POCtoberfest.  If you were certified last year, you still need to retake the course, it expires every year.
-CPR/FIRST AID certification-watch out for emails from Kelly for where/when the training is taking place. We are required to have certified members at all club functions.   If you are already certified please take your cards to the REC sports office in Shreve so they can get it on file.  Officers and consultants will be reimbursed for the course.
-GEAR-Until we have all gear accounted for the gear closet will only be open after the meetings to return gear. If you are looking to check out gear you must have your dues and waivers turned in. Watch for emails from Brad or Gage to see when the closet will be open to rent gear.  The gear closet it located on the third floor of Lambert. It is the big cage right above the gym.
-Club PICNIC- There will be no meeting next week.  The regular meeting will be replaced with our semester club picnic.  The picnics are potluck style.  Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided by the club, everyone bring something to share.  Samm and I will be making ice cream.  The picnic is Tuesday @7pm at 437 vine, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

PAST TRIPS
-Gage and Amy O. led a mountain biking trip to town run.  They took a few beginners, everyone did wonderful, they had some good times and good pizza.
-Andrew and Pajo went to a secret camping spot in West Lafayette last Wednesday.  They road motorcycles, got freaked out by spider webs, bush wacked through poison ivy, almost started the forest on fire, and Andrew fell in a rabbit hole.
-Nick Fico led a trip to Colorado.  16 people went. They climbed 2 fourteeners Gray and Torrey.  They met up with some alumni, everyone made it to the top. They made some tricky maneuvers, Lev drove a minivan over a 4 foot pothole, everything went smoothly, and they managed to avoid any epic fails.
-Andy, Mandy, Peter, Adam, and some others went climbing in TN.  Peter rocked and showed off his BA climbing skills that were only enhanced by a summer of working in a climbing gym.  The heat was super intense on day 1, beautiful weather day 2, and rain on day 3.
-Kayakers went on the pigeon river in TN aka “the dirty bird.” Keith battled the pigeon with several combat rolls. The next day they ran the Ocoee river.  Keith was a shuttle bunny.  Rebecca got in some hammocking.  They got rained out Monday, but good weekend overall.

OUTGOING TRIPS
-Pajo wants to climb trad at the red river gorge in KY.  He needs a friend with a car who would like to accompany him.
-Roll Session is held every Monday and Wednesday in the aquatic center dive well @ 8-930pm.  There will be a short swim test before Wednesday’s session.  You MUST attend roll sessions if you would like to go on a club kayaking trip.
-Samm is going to the red to do sport climbing if it does not rain this weekend.
-Isaac is taking beginner trips to Climb Time Towers in Indi every Thursday this month. Look for additional emails if you cannot attend on Thursdays.  You MUST attend an indoor climbing session before climbing outside with the club.
-Gage wants to take 2 people who have never been mountain biking on the ampitheater trail Thursday or Friday. We currently only have large club bikes available. Talk to Gage if you are interested.

Watch the emailing list for more exciting adventures to come!

Have a wonderful week,
Amy B :)
