POC Newsletter 1/12/10

Hey all...this is what we talked about at the meeting...

Welcome all new members!!!!!!  If you haven't yet joined the club dues are $25 which allows you to go on trips with us and use all our gear! Feel free to come to any meeting, they are tuesdays at 7 at the corec (besides next week)

There won't be a meeting next week because some of the officers have to go to an officer training.

The spring callout will be Jan. 27th at 7pm in WTHR. We will need help flyering before this.

Lock-in: we're thinking that the weekend of Feb. 20th we will do the spring lock in at towers...more info will be sent out when it gets closer.

There will be a meeting with Michelle within the next few weeks talking about the climbing wall that will be built in the new corec. Let Andy know if you have input so he can pass it along.

POCAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is this weekend. We can still use volunteers talk to Kyle if you are interested. Tyler will be sending out a preracing packet for racers tomorrow nightish including directions (the race is at the same location as last year).  Registration will be from 8-1115 Saturday morning, try and get there early so there isn't a crazy rush at the last minute. We have about 200- 220 people signed up and about 40 teams.

First aid and cpr: if you are already certified and will be volunteering at pocar please talk to Kelly! there will be classes this week and next week for certification and Kelly will be emailing out that information. Its always good to have certified members on trips so please consider doing this!

Spring break..........climbers are going to Red Rocks, but if you have an idea for a trip or something you would like to do send out an email and see if anyone is interested!

Trips that went out:

-Logan, Donnie, Joe, Kyle, Jake, Eric, Nikki and myself went to Colorado and it was awesome.... ice climbing, cross country skiing, hot springing, and attempting to climb Mt. Elbert.

-Garth (Graham) wanted to go on an awesome trip to boulder but it was cold so he couldn't get people go and went to the gym instead. He also suggests you read Rock Warriors Way if you are serious about climbing.

-Pajo and Wai-Chak went to Wisconsin trying to find Andy's house in Illinois.

Stuff going on:

-Roll Sessions every Monday and Wednesday at 8pm

-Bouldering at Grahams and Andys, talk to them
