Summer Newsletter 5/26/09

I'm creating a new newsletter system.  If you want to see something in the newsletter, email your announcement to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The weekly deadline is 8pm Tuesday.  I can't guarantee you'll make the cut if you send it at 8:01, but you're welcome to try.

All the POC news I could find to print...

-  McCormick Woods are getting better, but there's still work to be done.  Work session this Thursday from 4pm to 7pm.

Bring the following if you can: Weed-eater,  round shovel, pruner.

Also long pants, gloves, bug spray, and drinking water are a must.

Road Biking:

-  Mark Endo is leading a beginner bike ride tomorrow (Wednesday) around 11am or so.  20 miles, no one gets dropped.

Brad's bio-inspired annoying corner of weird stuff:

Ever wonder why geckos can climb so much better than you?  Well according to researchers at Berkeley, the answer is Van der waals forces.

"You can't fool me! I took CHEM 115, I know that Van der waals is weak sauce."

Well don't take my word for it... fast forward to 12:45 and enjoy:
