Winter Climbing at the RRG - February 2004

A trip of four old-timers, neither of whom was a Purdue student: Vladimir, Ritwik, Joel, Bob.

We went on St. Valentine's Day weekend. The original destination was Tennessee (T-Wall), but the forecasters harbingered precipitation, so we went to good ol' Red. In case anybody is wondering whether it was cold: it was. It was better than sweltering August, but having one's fingers go numb from cold in the middle of a route is not an enviable condition.

On Saturday we went to Muscle Beach and climbed a lot of dirty, raspy, but satisfying cracks. On Sunday we headed to the longest route at the Red: the 4-pitch Foxfire.

Overall, an epic trip to visit both old and new places before sending Ritwik off to bigger and better things in his new post-Purdue career out West.
